NAPERVILLE, IL-Systemax Inc., a direct marketer of brand-name and private-label computer products, is expanding its 240,000-sf distribution center at 175 Ambassador Dr. by 112,343 sf. The expansion, which is slated for a September completion, represents a 47% increase in space.
In order to accommodate the growing needs of the firm's operations, plans include 90,000 sf of new warehouse space, a 14,384-sf mezzanine to accommodate an automated conveyer system and 8,000 sf of new office space. An additional warehouse entrance and eight truck docks will expand the firm's shipping operations.
Wrightwood Capital is the owner/landlord of the property. McShane Construction Corp. will provide design/build services for the expansion. Jeffrey Raday, president of McShane, tells GlobeSt.com that the site work on the project has started already, and the foundation work should begin soon.
