JACKSONVILLE-The Louisville, KY-based real estate development company Aslan has opened an office to handle acquisition and development activities throughout the southeast. The office will be led by executive vice president Kevin Setzer.
A spokesperson tells GlobeSt.com the location was selected for several reasons. Among them is the company's founder and CEO Greg Evans is from the area. Also, the company has several projects under way including the Aslan Beach House in South Ponte Vedra Beach and a condominium community in the planning stages at Vilano Beach. "It's a good location for us, it's centrally located and we've got a lot going on there," the spokesperson says.
Aslan has projects totaling more than $2 billion in development or under construction throughout the southeast in such states as Florida, Texas, South Carolina, North Carolina, Alabama, Tennessee, Indiana and Kentucky. "We feel that, with the real estate market the way that it is, the southeast is where to be," the spokesperson says.
Setzer has more than 17 years of experience in commercial, industrial, residential design and construction. He also has experience in development management with a particular focus on design/build and build-to-suit projects. Before joining Aslan, Setzer served as vice president/partner at Stokes & Co. and vice president of land & development for Pulte Homes' Jacksonville division. He has also served as manager for St. Joe Co.'s commercial division. "Kevin's background makes him the perfect choice to lead our mixed-use real estate development activities and head up our new Jacksonville operations," Evans says.
