"Through negotiations we found that continuing with them wasn't in our best interest and so we went out looking for another brand," hotel general manager Robert Kolpien tells GlobeSt.com. "With expansion of the Indianapolis Airport, Hampton was looking at getting newer hotel, and our owner and Hampton couldn't come to an agreement." Hotel operators turned to Ramada, the brand that will now oversee the lodge.

With the new banner, the hotel is undergoing a $250,000 renovation that will include the Ramada bedding package to all guestrooms and a convenience mart offering sundry items, as well as frozen and fresh food options. Kolpein says the new Ramada hotel will be the first hotel in the airport area to offer double queen rooms instead of full-size double bedded rooms.

The Ramada Indianapolis Airport is located one mile from the Indianapolis International Airport at 5601 Fortune Circle West. The hotel maintains an operating performance of 135% on the RevPar index. With room rates averaging $93.18 per night, the hotel services transient guest throughout the week and leisure travelers on the weekends.
