In a statement by Thomas Hynes, president of Meredith & Grew's Boston office, Hynes says Pergola stated his intentions to leave the firm in June. "We had numerous conversations regarding David staying at Meredith & Grew, but ultimately Dave made the decision to leave the firm," says Hynes, who called Pergola "an institution in Boston's real estate market." Neither Hynes nor Pergola could be reached for comment in time for GlobeSt.com's deadline.

Pergola's son, David Pergola Jr., also left Meredith & Grew earlier this year to take a position with Cushman & Wakefield's Boston office.
