Boston Baseball Field of Dreams, backed by several high-profile business leaders including the former head of TD Banknorth Garden, is planning a stadium modeled after one in Springfield, MO, that is the home field of a St. Louis Cardinals minor league team. A second group, which includes former Brockton, MA, Mayor Jack Yunits, who brought minor league baseball to Brockton, is hoping to construct a stadium it will share with BC High School and the University of Massachusetts.

Justin Holmes, spokesman for BC High, confirmed that the school met with both groups but said a formal proposal for the planned stadium has not yet been presented by either organization. Either project could cost several million dollars to build and would likely hold about 6,000 fans and ticket prices well below the cost of major league seats.

Representatives from both groups could not be reached for further comment in time for GlobeSt.com's deadline.
