CENTURY CITY, CA-Scott Bottles, a finance industry veteran formerly with Wells Fargo, has joined George Smith Partners to work with long time principals Gary Mozer and Lee Norman on business development, administration and underwriting. Bottles, who spent 22 years with Wells Fargo, directed the bank's real estate capital markets activity in the southwestern region as senior managing director and principal of real estate merchant banking.

Bottles "will be instrumental in expanding our services to our growing client base," Mozer says. The former Wells Fargo exec participated in the underwriting and approval of more than $9 billion in debt.

Bottles notes that in his previous position he worked extensively with George Smith Partners, which was founded in 1992 and last year completedg 275 transactions totaling more than $3.6 billion, a record for the firm. The firm specializes in arranging financing for commercial properties, including acquisition, construction, bridge and permanent loans as well as mezzanine loans, highly leveraged participating loans and joint venture equity.
