LOS ANGELES-The Bedford Group of Los Angeles has starteddevelopment of two residential condominium towers across from theBaldwin Hills Crenshaw Plaza shopping center, near Leimert ParkVillage. The development comprises one tower called Bedford Parcand another called the Promenade at Baldwin Hills, with the projectcollectively known as Bedford/Promenade.

The development site is a parcel that has been vacant for about50 years. According to Charles Quarles, president of the BedfordGroup, one aim of the 172-unit project is to provide market ratemultifamily housing for sale in the Baldwin Hills neighborhood.
