FORT LAUDERDALE, FL-Drawing upon the success of Privata Miami, locally based Akron Development Group is developing plans for Privata Las Olas, a 16-unit townhome project on one of the last finger isles on Las Olas Boulevard.
The project, with an estimated sell-out cost of $30 million, will include four-story townhomes in three buildings. The project is being undertaken by Akron Group I LLC, a subsidiary of Akron Development Group. The architect on the project is Miami-based Beilinson & Gomez Architects and interior designer is locally based Interiors by Steven G, the same design team that worked on Private Miami.
"The project is done in an ultra-modern, contemporary style but it will look different than the Miami project," Akron Group vice president/project manager Jason Jones tells GlobeSt.com. "The building will be white stucco with teak accents. It will look different than anything in Fort Lauderdale right now."
The developer purchased the land and received preliminary city approval for the project. The Akron Group declined to reveal the land price and the total construction cost. Plans call for a groundbreaking in about 10 months after the designs have been finalized and final approvals received, Jones says.
The project will include floor-to-ceiling hurricane impact resistant glass windows, European-style kitchen and baths with stainless steel appliances, marble countertops and elevators. The units will include deep-water boat slips that can accommodate 50-foot boats. Preconstruction prices for the project start at $1.4 million. Four units have been released for sale and developers have taken reservations for three of them, Jones says.
Akron began construction in September on Privata Town Homes, a $30-million, 43-unit townhome project in the Normandy Shores section of Miami Beach. The project at 25-135 North Shore Dr. consists of seven four-story buildings with units ranging in size from 3,086 sf to 3,642 sf.
