ING plans to choose the new name for the project in December as part of a repositioning of the property, which it acquired early this year from GE Pension Trust for $140 million on behalf of an ING investment fund. The office development was built in 1990 and is 75% occupied.
According to Michael Weiner, SVP with GVA Daum's Burbank office, ING plans upgrades that will include a café with outdoor seating, a new location for the project's signature bronze stallions and a remodeled ground floor lobby. The GVA Daum leasing team of includes Weiner, Paulette Toumazos and Jennifer Donaldson, all with the brokerage firm's Burbank office.
The 500 N. Brand building is in the middle of the Glendale central business district and is one of a number of office towers that were developed there in the late 1980s and early 1990s in that era's wave of Southland office construction. It is two blocks south of the Ventura Freeway and close to both the Golden State Freeway and the Glendale Freeway.
