The headquarters will be located at 7 East Congress St. The company recently signed letters of intent to purchase two parcels of land totaling 1,810 acres to develop two industrial parks with a build-out capacity of six million sf.
Merklinger will focus on the development and leasing of the two parks. The developments include LogistiCenter at Savannah, a $200-million, 1,738-acre park in Meldrim, Effingham County. When built out, the park will accommodate five million sf of new industrial space, comprising eight to 15 facilities. The second park is LogistiPort at Savannah, a 72-acre site in Pooler fronting the west side of Dean Forest Road. DP Partners plans to break ground on two speculative buildings in spring 2007 totaling more than one million sf and scheduled for completion in the third quarter 2007.
For four years prior to joining DP Partners, Merklinger was project manager for the Savannah Economic Development Authority where he provided site selection assistance to more than 250 companies and located 37 companies in Savannah. A native of Rochester, NY, he is a member of the Georgia Economic Developers Association, the International Economic Developers Council and the Young Professionals of Savannah.
