Industry insiders will discuss these trends, as well as try to answer several questions--is the multifamily housing bubble about to burst; do landlords have the upper hand over tenants in today's office market--at the first RealShare South Florida conference to be held Dec. 6 at the Hollywood Hard Rock Hotel.

The event is expected to draw 150 to 300 attendees from a broad range of real estate disciplines, including developers, investors, brokers and lenders, says Richard Kelley, director of the Real Estate Media Conference series. "We're gathering the market leaders in one place for a half day. They'll come away with a better understanding of where the market is going," Kelley says. "But it's also an excellent opportunity for networking and to possible get deals done."

The event will kick off with a state of the market town hall meeting featuring Marcus & Millichap senior vice president/managing director Gene Berman and Wachovia Real Estate Financial Services senior vice president/marketing manager David Warne. The session will address aspects of the South Florida office, retail, industrial and multifamily markets. "We're trying to give people a sense of what to look for in 2007," Kelley says.

The event will also feature concurrent sessions such as "Who's Buying, Who's Selling and Why in South Florida" featuring speakers including NAI/Merin Hunter Codman Inc. chairman Neil Merin, Passco Cos. LLC president William Winn, Butters Construction & Development Inc.'s Jeff Lapidus and CB Richard Ellis executive vice president, investment properties Christian Lee. The session will address the investment environment, including the types of properties that have become attractive for acquisition in recent months.

Because a South Florida event "wouldn't be complete" without a segment of the multifamily market, a session addressing closings, conversions and changing demographics will be held. It will feature speakers Cushman & Wakefield senior director Brad Capas, CIPS Kirschner Realty International Inc. CEO Kim Kirschner and Pinnacle Housing Group partner Michael Wohl.

The RealShare conference series is presented by Real Estate Media, publishers of GlobeSt.com and Real Estate Forum, as well as a number of industry newsletters.
