CHICAGO-Four-year Cushman & Wakefield veteran Michael P. McKiernan is taking over the brokerage firm's industrial leasing strategy. Based here, McKiernan, who takes over from departing O.B. Upton III, will assume the title of executive managing director of the industrial services group for the Americas.

Rainmaker McKiernan was C&W's Midwest area leader before the promotion and is credited with growing the Chicago office's revenues by 70%. He came to the firm from Grubb & Ellis. He was there for 14 years, sporting the title of Eastern market president when he left.

New business is going to be a key part of the new EMD's push, and toward that end much of McKiernan's focus will be on implementing new strategies. Recruitment will also figure into the plan as the business grows.
