LA MIRADA, CA-VT Industries, a manufacturer of kitchen countertops, has more than tripled its space in buying a $13-million 137,700-sf property that will serve as the company's new plant and warehouse, according to the Goodglick Co., broker on the sale. Gary Blau of Goodglick, who represented VT parent company Clausen Investments in the acquisition, says that the manufacturer expects to occupy the building at 16222 Phoebe Ave. in May.
Clausen acquired the Phoebe Avenue property from Bristol Industrial in what will be a relocation from its existing facilities in Gardena. Bristol was represented by Adam Deierling and Laird Perkins of CB Richard Ellis.
VT Industries will employ approximately 50 workers at its new facility, according to Blau. The Goodglick broker points out that the Phoebe Avenue building, situated on 280,000 sf of land, provides "plenty of room to grow" for VT Industries, whose business has increased with the growing demand for kitchen countertops in the burgeoning home improvement market.
