This is the largest single project Parsippany-based Skanska USA has ever undertaken. Previous notable projects include Reliant Stadium in Houston and Gillette Stadium in Foxboro, MA. Skanska is also part of the team constructing the new stadium for the Yankee Stadium.

The 82,000-seat stadium is about 175,000 square meters (about 1.9 million sf), and will include 217 luxury suites. Skanska USA will subcontract out the steel works to Skanska USA Civil for $150 million.

The New Jersey Sports and Exposition Authority approved the ground lease for the new stadium a month ago, as reported by GlobeSt.com. The stadium is scheduled to be open in time for the 2010 football season.
