LAS VEGAS-The 1.6-million-sf second building at World MarketCenter opened this week in conjunction with Las Vegas Market, theannual home furnishings trade show that got underway here onMonday. The $345-million, 16-story building is the second of aneventual eight buildings that will cost $3 billion to develop andwill total 12 million sf, making it the largest trade show complexin the world.

World Market Center is a new integrated home and hospitalitycontract furnishings showroom and convention complex in Las Vegas,a place where designers and manufacturers lease space to show offtheir latest products to retailers and other wholesale buyers.Upward of 60,000 furniture retailers, manufacturers, designers andspecifiers are expected to attend the show, which runs todaythrough Friday and features more than 1,200 exhibitors at threelocations.
