EDISON, NJ-JG Petrucci Co., an Asbury-based developer and construction firm, is set to launch construction in June for its 570,000-sf Middlesex Logistics Center here. The project, which is being done on a speculative basis, is slated to rise near Exit 10 of the New Jersey Turnpike.

"Our confidence in the local market was the key to our decision to build on spec," says Greg Rogerson, a principal of JG Petrucci. Middlesex Logistics Center is one of the largest spec distribution facilities under way north of Exit 8A of the Turnpike, Rogerson says. The site is about 19 miles from the Port of Newark/Elizabeth and 30 miles from New York City, and corporate neighbors include FedEx, John Wiley & Sons and National Freight Industries.

Petrucci has also hired Cushman & Wakefield of NJ to find tenants for its new building. Frank Caccavo, Jason Goldman and Andrew Siemsen, all based in C&W's local office, are handling the assignment.

Building particulars include flexible design incorporating pre-cast panel construction, according to Rogerson. It will have 36-foot clear ceilings, and its design will include the ability to create second-story office space. Cost of the construction hasn't been released.
