BOCA RATON, FL-New York City-based Morgan Stanley has acquired a five-building shopping center portfolio with a total of 735,920 sf for $281 million. The properties were acquired from locally based REIT Woolbright Development Inc.
The shopping centers acquired were Oak Grove Shoppes, located on the northeast corner of State Road 434 and Jamestown Boulevard in Altamonte Springs; Sea Ranch Centre, located one-half mile north of Commercial Boulevard on the west side of AIA in Lauderdale by the Sea; River Bridge Centre on the southwest corner of Jog Road and Forest Hill Boulevard in Greenacres; Murdock Carrousel, located at 1900 Tamiami Trail in Port Charlotte; and Galt Ocean Marketplace, located on North Ocean Boulevard, approximately one-half mile south of Commercial Boulevard in Fort Lauderdale.
"The sale of these properties to Morgan Stanley further solidifies our goal this year to reinvest capital into both redevelopment and ground-up development projects throughout Florida's major metropolitan markets," says Woolbright executive vice president of leasing and marketing Mike Fimiani.
The 187,119-sf Oak Groves Shoppes is anchored by Stein Mart with N Nails, Goldfingers and Broadway Pizza among other tenants. The 98,679-sf Sea Ranch Centre is anchored by Publix with CVS, Allstate and Casa Mortgage among other tenants. The 223,355-sf River Bridge Centre is anchored by Publix with Walgreens, 24 Hour Fitness and the UPS Store among other tenants. The 139,938-sf Murdock Carrousel is anchored by Lowe's with Blockbuster, Star Nails and Subway among additional tenants. The 105,000-sf Galt Ocean Marketplace is anchored by Winn Dixie with Bealls Outlet, Dunkin Donuts and Ocean's Grille among additional tenants.
Woolbright acquired River Bridge Centre and Galt Ocean Marketplace in May 2005 and acquired Oak Groves Shoppes in November 2005.
