IRVINE, CA-The Plaza-Irvine's two 15-story, 202-unit condo towers are making their debut here, signaling the new high-rise urban living that is developing in once strictly suburban Orange County. The condominiums, on the corner of Jamboree Road and Campus Drive in Irvine, are a project of OWR Development Inc. and Geoffrey H. Edmunds California Inc.
Construction is complete and "move-ins are imminent," the developers say. Their project, designed by the architectural firm MV&P International, is adjacent to the open space of the San Joaquin Wildlife Sanctuary and close to the John Wayne Airport.
According to Paul Marshall, division president in Southern California for development partner Opus West, the project is a "near sell-out," with a few units remaining at prices starting from $1.2 million. Each of the two towers comprises 101 units ranging from 1,175 sf to 4,290 sf.
The development team is also working on 3000 The Plaza, a third luxury tower within the 13-acre master-planned residential development, that will be adjacent to the Plaza-Irvine. They broke ground on the new tower last summer and expect to complete it in August of 2008, with prices anticipated to start in the low $700,000 range.
The area between the two existing towers features a one-acre outdoor entertainment and recreational space designed by landscape architect SWA. Amenities at the towers include a residents-only club room with a caterer's kitchen for private events, a 24-hour lobby host, concierge services, a lobby with controlled access, a conference room and a business center.
