Construction on the Medici, a six-story, 160,000-sf building, began in October. The Bankers Bank will relocate all 300 employees in its corporate headquarters from the Vinings to the Medici in the first quarter of 2008.

"This represents an opportunity to consolidate our personnel into a single Atlanta location with a layout and infrastructure to support our growth program," says the Bankers Bank COO Earl Howell. "The Piazza development clearly represents the right long-term platform for our headquarters and support operations."

Colliers Spectrum Cauble vice president Kathy Burke represented the Bankers Bank, and Ben Carter Properties partner and executive vice president Candice Flig represented Ronus Properties. "It's incredibly rare to be able to fill a building before you've completed," Ronus Properties president Rick Langhorne tells GlobeSt.com.

Piazza at Paces in situated on Northside Parkway at Howell Mill Road, near the Interstate 75/West Paces Ferry interchange. The development currently contains five completed buildings including the Forum, a 212,000-sf office tower; the Borghese, a 60-unit luxury condominium; the Rocca, an 80-unit apartment project; the Rinaldi, a 42,000-sf office building and the 60,000-sf Arthur M. Blank Family Office Building. Existing tenants in the project include Mellon, the Coca-Cola Bottlers' Association, Northern Trust and the Arthur M. Blank Family Foundation.

Future phases of Piazza at Paces will include a 280,000-sf office building. Construction is expected to begin in spring 2008 with completion in summer 2009. It will also include 25 townhomes with construction expected to begin in the fall and completion in summer 2008, Langhorne says.
