"All of the Washington, DC regional markets, including Northern Virginia and Maryland, remain extremely robust," Rich Kelley, director of the series, tells GlobeSt.com. Real Estate Media, which publishes GlobeSt.com and Real Estate Forum, produces the RealShare Conference Series.

"This kind of environment and market inspires people to come out and learn more about the opportunities and most importantly discuss them face to face with their peers in the industry," he says.

This is the fifth DC-based RealShare Conference Series. In 2005, a conference specifically for the Northern Virginia region was introduced. Last year some 300 people attended that event.

David Winstead, commissioner of Public Buildings at US General Services Administration, will kick off the conference, followed by a panel discussion on DC market dynamics, led by Mitchell Schear, president of Vornado/Charles E. Smith.

Panel discussions will focus on such topics as whether 2007 will be another record year; the evolution of the multifamily, condo and life center markets; opportunities and exit strategies in a frothy investment sales market; and submarket dynamics.

Other panel participants will include Bruce Baschuk, president of J Street Development; Jim Lee, president & COO of Opus East; Bob Murphy, managing principal of MRP Realty; Philip Thomas, managing director of Tishman Speyer; Scott Melnick, co-director at Transwestern; John Duffy, senior managing director of Holliday Fenoglio Fowler.

Jim Hedges and Paul Schulman of Brookfield Properties; John Kevill, managing director of Investment Sales at Jones Lang LaSalle; Chris Spitz, president of DRI Development Services LLC; Bruce Pascal, executive vice president at CB Richard Ellis; Brian Coulter, principal at the JBG Cos.; and John Harned, vice president of Hines will also be speaking throughout the day-long event.
