LOS ANGELES-Lincoln Property Co. has completed the 165-unit second building of its 272-unit Mozaic apartment complex adjacent to Union Station. Completion of the building at 888 N. Alameda St. follows the December completion of the 107-unit first building at the complex of one-bedroom, two-bedroom and studio apartments.

Reg Delponte, senior vice president of Lincoln Property Co. California, points out that the location provides residents with direct access the Metro and is within walking distance ofOlvera Street, Chinatown and Little Tokyo. Renters at the complex include a mix of students and professionals, recent transplants and Southern California locals, according to Veronique Ledoux, property manager for Lincoln.

Amenities at the five-story Mozaic complex include a rooftop pool, a fitness center, an Internet café, courtyard fountains, a spa and lounge, a media screening room, a billiards room and other features. Its two dozen floor plans range from 644 sf to 1,460 sf.

The Mozaic was at one time being marketed as condominiums by Standard Pacific Homes under the name Axis at Union Station. The arrangement gave Standard an option to acquire the property from Lincoln, the developer of the site.

Standard did not acquire the project because of market conditions as well as delays in construction and occupancy. Lincoln then switched it to an apartment project and renamed it the Mozaic.
