PALM DESERT, CA-Stater Bros. supermarket and Walgreen’s have signed on as anchor tenants for the 120,000-sf Marketplace in Palm Desert, adjacent to Sun City at Washington Street and Varner Road, according to CB Richard Ellis. The project is being developed by the W&V Marketplace in conjunction with Rinker Cos.

According to Maggie Montez, SVP with CB Richard Ellis, the neighborhood center will capitalize on the growing North Palm Desert and North Indio communities, including Sun City Palm Desert. Stater Bros. is finalizing drawings with the County of Riverside, and construction is scheduled to begin in April. Walgreen’s will begin construction shortly thereafter, with the center scheduled to open in the fall of this year.
