Summerlin Hospital is located on 40 acres at 657 Town Center Dr. The new patient tower will have six floors and 170 private patient rooms, taking the hospital's total number of beds to 450. The emergency room will more than double in size, according to the hospital.
Work on the new tower is scheduled to get under way before the end of the year and completion is slated for mid-2009. Work on the ER expansion is scheduled for late spring 2007 with project completion anticipated for mid-2008.
Not included in the $100-million expansion are plans for an additional 80,000-sf medical office building and another parking structure (in addition to a four-story garage scheduled to open next month). The start of those projects has not yet been determined.
