The area to be added to the district is bounded by Martin LutherKing Jr. Drive, Peachtree Street and the Norfolk-Southern Railroadtracks that border the west side of Downtown. The area has beenrenamed the Railroad District to reflect its history as well as itspotential for future redevelopment. A majority of property ownerswithin the area petitioned the district to make the change. Aresolution for expansion approval will be presented to the AtlantaCity Council in May.
