The independent energy marketer signed a seven-year lease for the space with building owner Mack-Cali Realty Corp. of Edison, NJ. The deal brings the three-story, 180,000-sf office building to 100% leased.

Leonard Miller Jr. and Marc Graham of Cushman & Wakefield of New Jersey represented the tenant. Mack-Cali VP of leasing Christopher DeLorenzo represented the building owner.

DeLorenzo says that construction on the space is expected to begin next month with the office ready for occupancy by Sept. 1. He adds that Econnergy Energy was on the market for space for about a year and had looked at some Mack-Cali properties in Northern Bergen County, NJ before deciding to remain in Rockland County and relocate to the Rella Boulevard property.

Provident Bank is the largest tenant at the building, occupying approximately 60,000 sf of space.

According to its website, Econnergy Energy was founded in 1997 and is one of the larges independent energy marketers in the US, providing natural gas and electricity to hundreds of thousands of commercial, residential and industrial customers in New York, New Jersey Texas, Maryland, Ohio, Virginia and the District of Columbia.
