The first to arrive in Transwestern's camp was Jim Graham, who has settled into a senior vice president's role. A week ago, Trey Campbell, Chad Schulin and Chase MacLeod took their seats. Campbell and Schulin are vice presidents; MacLeod, an associate.
Although the quartet worked as a team at Fischer, that's not necessarily the plan at Transwestern. Graham, the former team leader, logged 9.5 years at Fischer in three stints, the last of which was slightly more than five years. Campbell had spent 5.5 years with the firm and Schulin had rounded the five-year mark, both as associates. MacLeod has just one year in the business. But, Graham stresses, the three young brokers each came independently to Transwestern.
"They're great guys. They're hard workers, quick and good with clients," Graham says. "Their futures are very bright." Campbell and Schulin were Fischer's associates of the year last year. In 2006, the team closed 53 office and industrial leases, representing more than 790,000 sf.
Graham says he "mulled over" the offer several months before accepting. "I very much enjoyed my time at Fischer," he says. "But, Transwestern enables me to broaden the box to development, acquisitions and dispositions. I am extremely optimistic about the opportunities here. I look forward to being able to contribute to it."
Fischer, founded in 1985, flies under the radar screen with its deals, but it's considered a corporate services leader in its ranks. "We understand that Mr. Graham and Mr. Campbell have left to explore opportunities in the development business and Mr. Schulin is planning to relocate to Houston as soon as possible," Clifford R. Fischer says in a statement for GlobeSt.com. "While we wish them the best in their future endeavors, Fischer remains focused on corporate real estate services and is experiencing tremendous growth. We are expanding our staff at a significant pace throughout all of our offices." And, he adds, 10 more major corporate clients have come on board this year.
