"This is an extremely exciting time for North Texas after six months of hard work," Mayor Robert Cluck says in a press release. "Winning Super Bowl XLV brings enormous economic impact and worldwide prestige to the North Texas region." The final face-off included Indianapolis and Phoenix.

Plans will now start to gel for related events and activities in surrounding cities. Grapevine and Irving are ticketed to participate in the joint effort of Dallas, Fort Worth and Arlington.

The Dallas Cowboys' stadium is rising beside Rangers Ballpark along Interstate 30. It will be completed in time for the 2009 season.

This month, the Texas Legislature cleared legislation that previously barred Arlington from dipping into the Other Events Trust Fund due to its population. The fund is an incentive pool for attracting special events like the Olympics, Pan American Games, All-Star Games and the Super Bowl.
