A SAP Americas' spokeswoman tells GlobeSt.com it will be followed by a second phase, which will include another 202,000-sf building and a 20,000-sf atrium. The estimated start date for phase two is 2012 at a cost that is yet to be determined. The full expansion will accommodate the addition of approximately 1,200 employees.
"Absolutely, the entire expansion is being constructed to be a Platinum LEED building," the spokeswoman says. That is the highest certification provided by the US Green Building Council. The architect is New York City-based FxFowle. Among the architect's other projects are the New York Times building and the Reuters Building at Three Times Square in Manhattan and Tianjin Tower in Tianjin, China.
