Speck, marking his 15th year with the firm, will remain in charge in Dallas, but also will be involved in national projects, internally and externally, as one of just five executives to achieve the upper-management ranking in the 1,400-agent corporation. Under Speck's leadership, the Dallas team, now roughly 90 members, has increased revenue six-fold in the past five years. The fast-paced growth has led to the opening of a Fort Worth office and possibly some more, particularly with Lamontagne moving into training as an office leader.
"Tim has been instrumental in developing both the national research group and major account services department," Harvey E. Green, president and CEO of the Encino, CA-based firm, says in a press release. Speck's corporate roles have included sales associate, divisional research manager and senior roles in Phoenix before coming to Dallas in 2002 as regional manager.
Lamontagne, marking his fifth year with the firm, will become a sales manager. "Scott has great potential to be not only a mentor and coach, but a leader in our organization," Speck says.
The office's new sales manager replaces Drew Kile, who has built a 15-member team since opening a Fort Worth office in fall 2006. The group recently has settled into permanent office space at 500 Throckmorton St. in Sundance Square.
Lamontagne headed up an investment sales group, which will now be led by Nick Fluellen. Two team members, Carl Mohr and David Pendley, will shift to the seven-member Eastwood Multi-Family Group, led by senior broker Norman Eastwood. Mohr retains an operations manager's title and Pendley stays an investment associate. Another Dallas associate, Al Silva, has transferred to Fort Worth.
Speck says Lamontagne will spend a short period of time learning new responsibilities and mentoring as a management understudy, including honing skills for hiring, retaining and training agents and support staff. "Then, he will be reassigned as a regional manager. Speck says the company still has two more offices to open this year. The next one most likely will be a third office in Greater Chicago.
