The fire started with a small fire as a tanker truck was being loaded with acetylene gas. It then set off a series of explosions at Southwest Industrial's building at 538 S. Industrial Blvd. and spread to a neighboring warehouse. A third building also is in danger, according to the latest accounts by reporters at the scene.

The area has been evacuated as firefighters attempt to contain the raging fire as possibly toxic fumes spew into the air from exploding canisters of propane and oxygen. The evacuated area includes the Hyatt Regency Dallas at 300 Reunion Blvd. and Reunion Arena at 777 Sports St.
