ATLANTA-With a 75,277-sf lease with Firestone Metal Products in place, locally based Oakmont Industrial Group has started construction of phase two at Parkway Logistics Centre. Phase two, which will be the final phase of the project, will include three buildings with a total of 343,000 sf. The buildings are expected to be completed in the fourth quarter.

The company previously signed a 204,743-sf lease with Chick-Fil-A, Inc. for space within the project. Firestone Metal Products was represented in the lease by Jay Gehl and Stephen Adams, of Indianapolis-based the Hokanson Cos.

Oakmont senior vice president of development Thomas Cobb tells GlobeSt.com that Chick-Fil-A will occupy two of the buildings and Firestone Metal Products will occupy approximately 55% of the third building. Both tenants will occupy the space immediately after construction is completed.

"To get leases signed for over 80% of the space before you start foundation work is a big deal," Cobb says. "It reinforces the quality of the location."

Parkway Logistics Centre is a five-building, 755,000-sf master-planned business park located off South Fulton Parkway near the intersection of Interstate 85 and Interstate 285 close to Hartsfield-Jackson Airport. The project includes 28-foot to 32-foot minimum clear heights, divisible buildings with store front entrances, ESFR fire protection systems, full-concrete truck floors and reinforced floors with vapor barrier protection. The first phase includes 414,000 sf of space which has been constructed and is currently 68% occupied, Cobb says.

The general contractor on the project is the Conlan Co. and the architect is locally based Smallwood, Reynolds, Stewart, Stewart & Associates. Exclusive agents for the park are Sean Boswell, Chris Tomasulo and Chris Cummings, of Colliers Spectrum Cauble.
