Mark Levy, VP and market officer for ProLogis in Washington DC/Baltimore, tells GlobeSt.com that the company specifically chose Silver Spring to serve as its headquarters because it is equidistance from its holdings in the Maryland and Virginia markets.

The office space it has selected is larger than its current needs, he adds. However the firm is currently looking to hire new staff to support ProLogis' leasing and property management activities, in anticipation of further growth. ProLogis is currently one of the largest industrial owners in the Washington DC/Baltimore area with more than 6.8 million sf of industrial space owned, managed or under development.
