In addition to the office buildings and more than 14,000 sf ofrestaurants, the development firm is also studying the feasibilityof an alternative that would include a fitness center, anadditional restaurant and service retail. Opus recently completed aconcept review for the development before the Westlake Village CityCouncil.

According to Stuart Morkun, Opus West director of real estatedevelopment, the restaurants are planned to include sit-downestablishments in answer to feedback from community residents.Residents also asked for a greater mix of uses, so Opus West is nowalso evaluating the feasibility of a slightly expanded project thatwould be anchored by the fitness center, an additional restaurantand shops and cafes.

The expanded project would service the area included in thegreater Westlake North Specific Plan, which comprises more than700,000 sf of office development. The office portion of the Opusdevelopment would be suitable for corporate headquarters forfinancial, technology, healthcare, banking and insurance industrytenants, the developer says.
