The global initiative has taken the fast-track at Real Estate Media in recent weeks. In August, ALM closed on its acquisition by Incisive Media, a London-based company with financial services, risk management, professional-services and marketing-services products based in major markets around the globe.

Desiato served as group managing director and editor in chief of Real Estate Media from 1989 to 2006. He joined REM in 1979 as an assistant editor for Real Estate Forum magazine and was named associate publisher three years later. In 1989, he became editor in chief of the magazine and later played a key role in the development and launch of REM's regional magazines, Real Estate Southern California, Real Estate New York and Real Estate New Jersey.

Desiato is the former president and chairman of the National Association of Real Estate Editors. He is the host of the "Inside the Real Estate Mind" sessions at REM's RealShare conference series, interviewing leaders of the commercial real estate industry, and has served as a panelist for industry organizations including the Urban Land Institute and BOMA International. He is also a member of BOMA International's Education Advisory Council.

"Over the past 16 months, Mike has overseen the launch of our newest magazine, Real Estate Florida; the expansion of our RealShare Conference series to new markets around the country; and the well-received redesign of GlobeSt.com," says Pollack. "He has also become a leading voice in the industry on a range of topics including sustainable development and the Green Buildings movement. We congratulate him on this well-deserved promotion."

In addition to the print and online products already mentioned, REM online publications include GlobeSt.RETAIL and newsletters that address specific commercial real estate segments. REM produces the RealShare conferences, a series of more than 25 regional events targeted to commercial real estate professionals, in locations throughout the US.
