MIAMI-Construction will begin this month on the 83,000-sf SohoBeach House condo hotel development at 4385 Collins Ave. Theproject includes renovation to the 44-room Sovereign Hotel, a1940s-era Art Deco hotel, and construction of a new 15-story towerwhich will house 67 condominiums. Soho Beach House is the second USproject by hotelier Nick Jones, the creator of Soho House in NewYork City, Soho House in London and Babington House in Somerset,England.

Fort Lauderdale-based Moss & Associates was awarded the$32-million construction management contract for the project,expected to be completed in March 2009. The architect on theproject is Allan T. Shulman. The building will be screened withwrapping balconies and perforated concrete panels. The project islocated in mid Miami Beach, adjacent to the landmarkFontainebleau.
