PERTH AMBOY, NJ-US Foodservice has leased 452,000 sf at the newAmboy Corporate Center located here. The 64-acre, 1.1-million-sfwarehouse and distribution facility is being developed byRutherford-based Morris Cos. Financial details of the transactionwere not disclosed.

US Foodservice's lease is in the center's first building, whichfeatures more than 600,000 sf of space. A second building of517,000 sf is also available for lease.

The building will be ready for occupancy in the second quarterof 2008. Daniel Frankel, SVP with Colliers Houston, the site'sleasing agent, predicts that the corporate center will create 300to 400 new jobs in the city.

The center is close to New York City, Port Newark and NewarkLiberty International Airport. Companies that lease space at thecenter are eligible for urban enterprise zone benefits. Thecorporate center is part of the Portfield Initiatives, an effort bythe New Jersey Economic Development Agency and the Port Authorityof New York and New Jersey to identify redevelopment sites near NewJersey's ports.
