Wadsworth says that the new unit is a response to increased demand for healthcare services in response to changing demographics. "The Orange County population is aging, which has created a need for more healthcare services, translating into a demand for more medical office space in the region," Wadsworth says.
The specialized practice group that Wadsworth heads will provide a wide range of medical real estate services for what Wadsworth calls "the highly underserved medical office market." The new group offers medical real estate services including property owner representation, marketing and leasing, tenant representation, investment services, development services, consulting, market analysis, property valuation, property management and construction management.
According to Wadsworth, CHCS has assembled detailed statistics on all of the medical office properties in Orange County. Wadsworth, who began working in the medical office sector of real estate in 2001, has since built a team that servesthe specific needs of including developers and owners, local doctors, regional hospitals and national healthcare systems that are involved with medical real estate.
The new Colliers International specialty group carries through on plans mentioned earlier this year by Glen Esnard, Irvine-based president of Colliers International Brokerage Services USA, in an interview with GlobeSt.com. According to Esnard, Colliers is pursuing a strategy that is designed to focus more tightly on meeting the unique needs of specific sets of clients.
The company launched an occupier services group and a landlord services group earlier this year, and it already has a private capital group that was established more than a year ago. The Colliers strategy identifies clusters of clients that have similar needs in order to build practices around those clusters.
