Qualcomm's new space is in a six-story building at 5880 Oberlin Dr. and will serve as general office space for the high-tech firm. The building, which Westcore acquired in June 2005, is situated directly across the street from Qualcomm's corporate headquarters campus. The building was previously occupied by Advanced Marketing Services until August.

Qualcomm represented itself in the transaction, in which Westcore was represented by Scott Kincaid and Jeb Bakke of CB Richard Ellis. The leasing of the new space follows an October deal in which Qualcomm Inc. acquired a 320,000-sf low-rise campus known as Kifer Corporate Center in the Northern California city of Santa Clara for $80 million. Qualcomm will use that facility to consolidate a couple of its expanding offices in the area.
