Newmark Knight Frank Capital Group is marketing the Errol FlynnEstate on behalf of his third wife and widow, Patrice Wymore Flynn.The firm's senior managing director Kenneth Zakin tells GlobeSt.comthat the most likely buyer for the property would be a developer ofa high-end resort, with a golf course and spa. It could alsopotentially attract an "eco-friendly" development, given theunspoiled nature of the grounds, which Patrice Flynn has used as acattle ranch.

Port Antonio is on Jamaica's northeast coast, a remote part ofthe island that has not experienced the tourism boom of otherisland towns. It is also harder to reach, a two hour's drive fromthe island's Kingston airport. However, both the Jamaicangovernment and developers are taking a renewed interest in thearea.

The Jamaican national elections, held on Sept. 3, opened upsignificant opportunity for development in the region. The newlyelected Jamaica Labour Party government has a pro-growth agenda,according to Zakin, and it is committed to expanding tourism beyondtraditional areas and developing the high-end accommodationsmarket. Daryl Vaz, member of parliament for West Portland andMinister of State in the Office of the Prime Minister, explains ina statement that the Parish of Portland, which encompasses PortAntonio "has been specifically targeted as the logical and idealplace of future growth, given the area's reputation forexclusivity, natural beauty and an unspoiled character. In thepast, the region has not received the attention that it merits;however, the new government, through a series of public/privatepartnerships, will ensure that sensitive development occurs."
