Nanula's new position at Los Angeles-based Colony is described as "a senior role in all firm activities worldwide, with a special focus on existing and future operating company transactions." At Amgen, where he served six years as a member of the company's executive committee, he was responsible for finance, corporate strategy, mergers and acquisitions, and internal and external relations. Before joining Amgen, he served as president and chief operating officer for Starwood Hotels and Resorts in New York.
From 1986 to 1998, Nanula held a variety of increasingly senior executive positions at the Walt Disney Co., culminating in the role of senior executive vice president and CFO. He also served as president of Disney Stores Worldwide, among other roles, and has served on the boards of Starwood, the Boeing Co. and Expedia.
