The space that the MPAA will relocate to formerly was occupiedby Warner Bros. Entertainment's animation group, according toStudley's Mark Robinson and Craig Jablin. Robinson and Jablin, bothcorporate managing directors at Studley's West Los Angeles office, represented the MPAA in the lease, which is for 8.5 years. Terms ofthe lease were undisclosed, but industry sources peg it at $31million.

Robinson says that the space works out especially well for themovie-makers because the Galleria office building, since it wasformerly occupied by a major entertainment company, contains thescreening rooms and technology needed by the MPAA. The locationnear the interchange of the San Diego (I-405) and Ventura (I-101)freeways is also convenient and accessible for all of the memberstudios, he says. Another advantage of the building for the MPAA isthat the parking at the Sherman Oaks Galleria can accommodate thelarge meetings and groups that often occupy the space, he adds.

The MPAA's new space is on the first and second floors of the15301 Ventura Blvd. building. It will share the 104,634 sf withthree of its affiliate groups, the Alliance of Motion Picture andTelevision Producers (AMPTP), the Directors Guild of AmericaContract Administration and the Directors Guild Producer TrainingPlan.
