OKLAHOMA CITY-The Shawnee Nation’s tribal leaders and city officials have filed an application with the Bureau of Indian Affairs to put 104 acres in northeast Oklahoma City into a federal trust. The process is the tribe’s next step toward developing a $400-million destination entertainment resort.

Plans for the as-yet unnamed resort were unveiled yesterday in Oklahoma City. The project will include a 400-room hotel, 10,000-sf spa, 15-screen cinema, 72-lane bowling center and 70,000 sf of retail. Also on the drawing board is a 2,400-seat performance center. The development site is west of Interstate 35 between Britton Road and Wilshire Boulevard in the city’s “Adventure District.”

In November, the tribe acquired the land from Premier Assets for $4.5 million. The developer is Shawnee Development LLC from Miami, OK.
