In addition to the renovations, General Growth Properties isalso developing plans to create a retail expansion for a vacantformer Macy's building, according to Larry Martin, general managerof Montclair Plaza. The renovation and remodeling will includeinterior finishing of common areas, replacing of the handrailsthroughout the entire mall, new ceiling materials and lighting tosoften the industrial look of exposed metal beams, new fixtures andfurniture, soft seating and new balconies. Other features of theproject will include the addition of new family restrooms on thelower level in the Sear's wing, a new play area will be adjacent tothe family restrooms, replacement of the food court bridge and ahost of other upgrades and additions.

Nordstrom's remodeling plan will be designed to make the134,000-sf store more inviting, including new tile and carpeting,updated dressing rooms, new concept fixtures and updated lightingin every department, as well as new exterior landscaping. Nordstromwill also be remodeling its café.

Montclair Plaza has grown through remodeling and expansion toinclude more than 200 retailers. In addition to its anchors andretail shops, the mall features restaurants that includeApplebee's, Olive Garden, Elephant Bar, Tony Roma's, Acapulco,Stuart Anderson's Black Angus, Romano's Macaroni Grill and Chili'sGrill and Bar. New retailers coming to Montclair Plaza this yearinclude Coach, Aldo, Champs and New Image Salon & Spa.
