BIRMINGHAM, AL-Paul Earle has been promoted to chief operating officer at Colonial Properties Trust. Since 1997, he has served as executive vice president of multifamily for the locally based REIT, which he joined in 1991. He will oversee the operations of all the firm's owned or managed multifamily properties, as well as its property operations. Taking Earle's former role is Ray Hutchinson. He joined Colonial in 2004 and has served as senior vice president, multifamily.
[IMGCAP(3)]WASHINGTON, DC-Two executives have risen in the ranks at Federal Capital Partners, a locally based investment and operating company. Alan Shearer will now be managing director, land, and Garland Faist will serve as vice president and controller. [IMGCAP(4)]Shearer joins the firm from NVR Inc., where he was senior vice president, land. He will help to establish FCP's for-sale residential land acquisition group, leading a team that will source residential land opportunities, secure entitlements, establish strategies for value creation and manage the disposition or funding solutions for those land assets. Faist was previously vice president and controller for the Mills Corp. Now he will direct the accounting, tax and financial operations of FCP's management companies and partnerships.
CHARLOTTE, NC-Tracey L. Whitson has joined Crosland LLC as vice president of operations for the residential division. She will oversee the locally based firm's director of affordable housing property management, four regional property managers and its operations support manager, all of which manage 130 on-site associates at Crosland's apartment and condominium properties, including 4,000 market-rate and 1,000 affordable-housing units. The firm has another 1,500 new units under way. Having entered the industry in 1991, Whitson has been with Archstone-Smith for the past nine years, most recently serving as vice president of operations.
IRVINE, CA-RealPage Inc. subsidiary LeasingDesk Insurance Services has added Larry Bellack as a strategic account manager. [IMGCAP(2)] He will mainly be responsible for growing market share for the firm's flagship product, eRenterPlan, within the multifamily industry in the mid-Atlantic and Northeast. Bellack will educate apartment owner and operators on utilizing risk mitigation products to protect their properties and increase NOI, as well as partner with trade and industry associations to expand brand awareness. Most recently in his 22 years in the sales and marketing industry, he served as vice president for Azuma Leasing, an in-unit washer and dryer leasing company.
