The Kimpton full-service boutique hotel will feature an upscalerestaurant at ground level, a rooftop patio and bar, banquet andconference facilities and other amenities. The hotel is planned aswhat Shea describes as "a one-of-a-kind venue" that will be similarin concept to the Hotel Solamar in Downtown San Diego, also aKimpton hotel.

The two major-brand select service concepts are designed to meetthe needs of the future 5.7 million sf of new office users atLegacy Park, which is an 820-acre mixed-use development locatedbetween Red Hill Avenue, Edinger Avenue, Jamboree Road and BarrancaParkway on the site of the former Tustin Marine Corps Air Station.The first hotel will anchor the west end of the main street andwill total approximately 160 rooms. The second will be anall-suites hotel of approximately 140 suites.

Steve Center, senior vice president of leasing for SheaProperties, comments that the new hotel offerings will be designedas "a complement to the retail area's unique dining and shoppingoptions." The hotels also will be designed to meet the fullspectrum of hospitality customer needs, from the executive andbusiness traveler, to business relocations, to familyaccommodations.
