Caputo's comes to the locally based shopping center giant withmore than two decades of retail experience under his belt. He joinsEquity One from New Hyde Park, NY-based Kimco Realty Co. where hewas executive vice president. In that position he led the portfoliomanagement and acquisitions groups. Prior to Kimco, Caputo was aprincipal with Rreef where he was in led nationwide retailacquisitions and dispositions, as well as served on the investmentcommittee. He resume also includes principal in charge of retailleasing at Colliers Pinkard in Baltimore.

The move reunites Olson and Caputo, in a way. Olson came toEquity One from Kimco where he was president of the eastern andwestern shopping centers. He officially joinedEquity One on Jan. 1, 2007 and took over the roles of president andCEO in April of that year. He also took a seat on the company'sboard of directors, as GlobeSt.com previously reported.

Caputo's hiring comes on the heels of several other executive changesthis year. In January, Equity One tapped Mark Langer as chiefadministrator to lead human resources, information technology andmarketing. He had previously served as COO of Johnson CapitalManagement. At the same time, Equity One revealed that COO JeffreyStauffer would resign, effective Feb. 28, as GlobeSt.com previouslyreported.

In another move, Equity One promoted Arthur Gallagher toexecutive vice president and general counsel earlier this month. Heserved as senior vice president since December 2006, and as generalcounsel and corporate secretary since coming to Equity One in2003.
