Caputo's comes to the locally based shopping center giant withmore than two decades of retail experience under his belt. He joinsEquity One from New Hyde Park, NY-based Kimco Realty Co. where hewas executive vice president. In that position he led the portfoliomanagement and acquisitions groups. Prior to Kimco, Caputo was aprincipal with Rreef where he was in led nationwide retailacquisitions and dispositions, as well as served on the investmentcommittee. He resume also includes principal in charge of retailleasing at Colliers Pinkard in Baltimore.

"Tom's passion for our business is contagious and hisrelationships with brokers, property owners and institutionalcapital providers are unmatched in our industry," Olson says in acompany statement. "I have worked closely with Tom and am confidentthat his leadership skills and experience will enable us to build aworld-class asset management infrastructure."

The move reunites Olson and Caputo, in a way. Olson came toEquity One from Kimco where he was president of the eastern andwestern shopping centers. He officially joinedEquity One on Jan. 1, 2007 and took over the roles of president andCEO in April of that year. He also took a seat on the company'sboard of directors, as GlobeSt.com previously reported.
