"We have been very successful on the brokerage side of datacenter deals for clients, and now we want to acquire or buildcenters from the ground up and participate in ownership," saysMarin, who will serve as president of the new firm. "We are raisingequity and are actively pursuing land and facilities for datacenters around the country."

The firm opened an office in Buckhead this week. At Staubach,the team represented clients such as CheckFree, T-Mobile, Intuit,Litton, Sumitomo Mitsui Bank, Lexmark, TimeWarner Cable andInternap among many others.

"As we watched the expansion of the data center market over thepast few years, we realized there is increasing demand for moreefficient data center solutions and the supply is not keepingpace," Marin says. "The purchase and development of these centersfrom the ground up does not currently fit Staubach's businessmodel, but we saw the opportunity."
