Newport Beach-based Government Solutions Inc. has hired Julie Cavanaugh as a senior project manager. She will be responsible for managing development applications for general plan amendments, zoning changes,environmental impact peports, tentative maps, master plans and other discretionary reviews in Southern California cities and counties and with the California Coastal Commission.

Cavanaugh, who brings more than 25 years of industry experience to the new post, is working with a client list including Newport Bay Marina in Newport Beach, Fairmont Hotel in Newport Beach, Hyatt Regency Newport Beach and Springhill Suites Hotel in Anaheim.

Government Solutions was founded in 1993. It is a full-service strategic public affairs firm specializing in government, community and media relations.

[IMGCAP(2)]At Santa Ana-based J.L. Hare Associates, Angela Gindy has joined the firm as director of business development. Gindy will work with developers, architects and general contractors in providing permit and entitlement services for large projects from the planning stage to completion.

J.L. Hare has provided permit management for master-planned communities, retail centers and industrial complexes for 22 years. Gindy will continue to pursue work in these areas while increasing the company's client base in the public and private sectors. Mainly, she will target commercial, hospitality, medical, and public works developments, according to Jackie Hare, president of J.L. Hare.

In his new position, Spalding will research government relations issues, attend public hearings and perform other duties surrounding government relations issues on behalf of clients.

Before joining Iger & Associates, Spalding served in the office of Government Affairs and Corporate Communications for Amtrak in Washington DC, where he worked in support of Amtrak's government affairs executives. Iger & Associates, which recently expanded its offices in Irvine and in the Inland Empire city of Palm Desert, provides governmental advocacy, community relations and business development services.
