The company already built its first Avenue Mall in Zagreb, andfilled it with international retailers such as Zara to 100%occupied months before it opened, says a spokeswoman for ColliersInternational Croatia, which is taking on the marketing and leasingof the project. The company is also working on, or has completed,17 shopping malls in Poland, the Czech Republic, Croatia, Romania,Serbia and Bulgaria.

Tomislav Perovic, managing director of the Colliers office, saidin a statement that Osijek, the fourth largest city in the countrywith 120,000 residents, is now starting to attract moredevelopment. The region, known as Slavonia, borders Serbia andHungary and sits astride a major transportation corridor."International-style shopping excellence in Croatia was onceconfined to the capital Zagreb, but now it's spreading outthroughout the country," he said in a statement.
