A partnership of Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide Inc. and Milwaukee-based Continental Properties Co. Inc. is developing the $35 million Aloft Hotel in the Rosemont Walk district. The property, one of Starwood's new boutique hotel concepts, is just minutes from O'Hare International Airport. The hotel will feature 9-foot-high ceilings in a loft-like ambiance, with high-tech connectivity in each room. A sky bridge is connecting the hotel with a parking garage.
"The Rosemont Walk development and the overall strength of the O'Hare market is a great location for this new, upscale, select-service product," said Paul Seifert, VP with Continental. The village's $500-million Rosemont Walk development is a 60-acre retail development. The property had also included another 800 hotel rooms, but those plans were shelved, Seifert tells GlobeSt.com.
